hi all,

I've got a set of throttle bodies on the westfield and have a bit of a miss fire. I believe that this might be down to injectors as I know that the car has had 5 years standing previous to me buying it.

could anyone recommend a place for testing/proving these injectors? I live in northwich, cheshire.

I can remove them easily enough and I know that you can do this at home (seen on youtube) but don't have a method of supplying fuel to them.

thanks in advance for any help.

P.S.

I have put new fuel in
changed plugs
tried new coilpack and leads from a known working engine.
proven timing with timing kit.
checked hydraulic lifters
sent a bore scope in to check the valves,

all seem ok so I want to check injectors before a rolling road session.

I have remved and dropped the injectors off at

http://www.fuelinjectorclinic.co.uk

for a clean and service. Patrick runs an injector cleaning set up from his home in Northwich.

all seems to be positive, we shall see tomorrow when the results are in.

Tried a additive to the fuel such as millers or red ex? Some of these have good claims of restoring injector spray pattern. The diesel one has got me through mot smoke tests.

I haven't to be honest, but for £12.50 each it's worth having them tested etc...

diesel would be much more expensive. as for that though there is an additive that kwick fit do, it costs £20 (can't remember the name) and can't be bought from anywhere else. looks like a tin of redbull.

worked a treat on my 300tdi landrover. only ever used it once and it flew through emissions and never smoke (believe it or not).
