I've been driving past this pretty much every day for nearly 3 years now, and I've always wondered what it was, does anyone have any idea?

It looks like a portable matrix sign to me.

Must have a weigh in value - surprised it's still there if it's been there for 3 years

They haven't built the armco round it and trapped it have they?

Not a scooby on what it is tho

Looks like a portable matrix sign. We have an abandoned one in our housing estate, but I see the other side of it when I go past, the side with the actual screen. Must have a few batteries aboard. biggrin

Yep, portable matrix sign. They tend to leave a few scattered about and use them for stuff like Vfest, although that one looks to be a bit far out. Theres been alot of roadworks up that way recently hasnt there?

Roadworks seem to be ongoing on the A12, some sections are in desperate need of resurfacing still.

I've never actually seen it in use; what slightly confused me was the bollard type things around it, which make it look like it's a permanent fixture in that sideways position. My more paranoid side keeps thinking it's some kind of misshapen speed camera biggrin

It will be dont let the wheels deceive you, thats where it lives now. Theres quite a few similar ones plotted about around essex and theyve stuck a few in along the newish A120 bit from chelmsford to basildon.

Infact I've just realised that is on the London side, bet its on next time the vfestivals running.
