My Rolls thread got me thinking about cars getting vandalised, I had an Audi get the wing stoved in for some perceived parking transgression on an empty business park one Friday evening and the thought of leaving a Rolls anywhere would fill me with dread, can understand people cant park, dont care or are just clumsy and may ding your car but would be concerned with anything nice like that, that I would come back to some new swirly patterns in the paint.

I have seen a few threads on here where peoples cars have been vandalised, have you had it happen and is it usually down to retribution or just jealousy ? I get the feeling that a thirty grand Ford would be left alone but a ten grand Roller would attract some abuse, doesnt seem to be that much to do with the actual cost, standing out as being different seems to cause the problem.

Saw this on retro Rides, just very saddening, poor sod renovated a Fiat 500 as his P and J, took it to shows and some scum bend the roof to get in, break the steering column off the body and then take the time to push it into a pond, on Christmas day, who the hell spends Christmas day vandalising small Fiats ? surely even scrotes have a day off ?

I would love to ask whoever it was why they did it, might be down to that thing whenever you mention a 500 or Fiat 126 someone has a story where they lifted one over a fence into a garden or some other hillarious jape, usually bks of course because they still weigh 600 killos and arent that easy to lift, even for six blokes its 100 kilos each, and lets face it, most of us cant lift 100 kilos, even on PH.

Beggars belief that people could be so cruel. I can't imagine this was a random thing, that a bunch of lads did for the crack.. it must have been targeted. Wonder if he pissed someone off?

eek What tossers!

My £1,000 worth of Focus had its door mirror kicked off and rear wiper snapped off while it was parked outside my house. Most likely drunk students or kids, they look to have damaged a few other cars on the street too. Fortunately a visit to the scrapyard fixed it... I'd be heartbroken if it was a car I actually cared about.

If you posted the first pic on its own you know you would get some calling for the car to be killed and thrown in a pond

Thats disgusting.

I've found what seems to be unintential damage on my cars about 15times in the past 4years. Perks of living in Dewsbury where nobody respects anything as there all fking scrubbers.

I had a new rear bumper fit, I parked outside my house and within a week I came out to find a nice skid mark in the tarmac (a kind of scratch asif you'd rubbed a big pebble on the road) leading straight to my brand new bumper leaving a fresh scratch/dent.

Just last week I found a series of scratches across my front bumper and headlight, it would seem I picked them up at the Shopping center whilst xmas shopping.

Everytime I find a mark I spend the entire day in anger.

I doubt that very much.
When you said Fiat 500 I thought "oh".
Then I clicked on the link and saw it, my heart sank, what a lovely little thing....I'd be gutted.

I wish him all the best with getting it back up together.

My couple of year old, silver mondeo was keyed in a supermarket car park on a saturday morning.

Experience told me it wasn't worth reporting.

Yes, there is a tendency on here to lust after and hold in high regard stuff we have never driven and to request destruction (with fire, not usually water, granted) of something less impressive, the 126 was basically an improved 500 (which everybody loves because it is cute) in every aspect apart from Cuteness, many have died to furnish 500's with their upgraded engine, alternator and fancy synchromesh gearbox, not many left, hope this one survives, looks like it should, even if it whiffs of pond and has tadpoles in the headlights.

Thoughtless stupidity. Back in 2011, near where I work, students were in the habit of roaming the streets in the early hours, finding lightweight cars and tipping them on their roofs. Idiots.

I think it's more related to proximity to late night drinking holes than the actual car. Yobbos on a night out, not had any luck pulling, feeling aggressive will kick / punch anything nearby. It's either that or overturn a bin / smash a bus shelter.

Recall wandering through central London (Marylebone) on the way home from clubs - there were always a few wing mirrors that had been kicked off, some on nice cars, some on mundane cars.

My 2CV had it's headlights twisted round to point backwards, and the rear bumper bent up so far I couldn't open the boot (which may have been an atempt to lift the car up).

That may have been the thing that desensitised me to good paintwork - I tend to buy cars with rubbish paint so I won't worry about them.

Smiler.

I agree.

Moronic behaviour is on the up.

I yearn for the days when a village had only one idiot.

Now, it seems to be a badge of honour. Perhaps they think that after supping alcoholic fruit beverages all evening (aka Tart Fuel), they could sell their clever & witty prank to an advertising company.

The retards who tried to flip over the cricket screens in the park local to me obviously thought so.

I bet it was targeted, but not because the owner did something. The pathetic people who do stuff like this would do it simply because the car is different.

Some youth decided to steal a powder fire extinguisher from a petrol station and dump the contents all over my car.

At first, I thought it was paint!

Did no harm though.

There was a phase in Amsterdam a few years ago where people would dump Smart Cars in the Canals. I can only presume that it must be hilarious as long as it's not your property. rolleyes

The "self confessed petrolheads" would hate this car its slow, cheap and FWD for a "self confessed petrolhead" so you know one half brain would be calling for its death

I used to have a mk4 Astra coupe about 4 years ago, in the time I had it I had to replace two wing mirrors and a drivers side window that was smashed but nothing taken from inside. All happened on seperate occasions and none of it was cheap purely because it was a coupe.

Before I had the Astra I had a mk6 Escort that I got stuck in snow and had to leave, when I got back to the car in the morning someone had broken in and stolen about £500 worth of stereo gear from the boot but I blame myself for getting it stuck in the first place hehe

I think some of it comes down to jealousy but most times I think it's just boredom, when the window was done in 6 other cars on the street had had the same treatment and they weren't exactly high end exotics.
