Good lord, a Daily mail story. rolleyes

Seriously, who gives a fk. If I flooded my Audi S4 I would buy another one and say "fk it", does that make me a bad person?

That paper is a vile spiteful stty rag that should have been closed instead of our beloved Mirror.

Genuinely don't see how that is news, even for the daily mail.

Lottery winner fked up and trashed nice car. Has already got a replacement.

It's a non news item.

Sadly my mum reads this paper, then moans like hell about all the injustices going on, especially if the person is not english/white.

I really take the piss referring to it as "OH MY GOD,THE WORLD IS ON FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!" newspaper. She then gets all huffy about it,its very funny to watch

I don't know what all the fuss is about either. Non-story.

They even decided to print the photo of his house to prove to the reader that he did indeed buy a new car. Why? He won the fking lottery. He can buy what he likes.

If this is the point it is getting to, we should really be snapping photos of the columnist doing his weekly shop, then submitting an article proclaiming they bought new toilet paper STRAIGHT AFTER they ran out of the last one.

Also, unless he carries waders in his car "just in case" I doubt it was that level when he drove in.

I suspect it stalled when there was just a small amount of water (we all know how crap modern cars are in water) and he then had to leave it then a friend went back in the land Rover after putting on his waders and removed his stuff then realising it had got deeper.

I'd imagine that 95% of the readers will be seething about it and from now on will retell the story ro friends, family members, children etc. It will be their legacy "Do you remember that story grandad told where that drunk lottery winner bloke drove his Bentley into six meters or water whilst wearing ladies underwear?" "Yeah, I hate rich people who do that"

rolleyes

I hate that fking paper!

Or maybe I should hate the imbeciles who buy and read it?

Does anyone else think the Merc is a rental?

Alternatively, given that £27k buys a one-year-old E350 CDi Sport that seems like a pretty cheap replacement for a Bentley, even if it was a few years old (because the saving in running costs would more than make up for any difference in purchase price).

Plus there can't be much less flush than a Series III Landy County (circa 1988)...

Pisses me off that despite the fact he didn't go public, they publish a picture of his face and where he lives. - On a article that has no public interest, therefore breaking his right to privacy. Hope the fking rag gets a hefty book thrown at its wallet.

I would also assume that the waters have risen since it was flooded? many cars around here were abandoned before they reached the water, and it rose and ate them!

Also, the feckers say the landie is from the 1940s! fking useless...

Heaven forbid they ever get to report anything remotely important.

The Mirror has gone?

As for the Mail, they print garbage, but it sells.

Saying that, it would have been better to brave the floods with that. :hehe

I had a lovely 540i but it had the air intake right near the floor. It wouldn't have made it through any depth of water. But unless you'd spent time under the bonnet you would never know this and think you could easily drive through some water.

I suspect many modern cars are like this and the average poor bugger hasn't any idea.

I agree with your appraisal of the paper as well smile. The article reads like a so called friend stitched him up. There seemed to be a load of invented media twaddle for idiots to suck up as fact and quotes from someone who seemed to dislike the man who lost his car.

Hateful propaganda rag. Hateful employee of paper. Hateful snitches.
