Black mini parked up on the barrier between the start of the M1 flyover and the slip lane off to Brent Cross.

Sums up the general competence of the average A406 user as well as Mini driver around here.

Breakdown?

Funnily enough I had a breakdown in almost the same spot you are describing! I was coming off the M1 to the 406 turning left and the car was just kaput.

In a VW beetle (classic) convertible!

This was years ago... but was one of the worse places to have broken down. To make matters worse - the right indicator was not working (!! talk about a kaput car! It was not mine btw before you accuse me of poor maintenace) so with the hazards only the left was working looking like I was indicating left!

My mates and I had to take turns to wave lorries and cars around it... was a nightmare until the AA man arrived.

At one point - I stopped a merc driver and asking to borrow his warning triangle (as I knew mercs had them) and he refused saying how would he know I would return it. I even offered him all the cash I had at the time (only £20) and said he could hold my license or something like that as collateral and he drove off. Nice helpful people ... not... I know in a similar situation I would happily have helped. Hey ho.

Luckily AA guy was quite quick and towed us out the way.

It was broken down by the time it had come to a halt. wink

No, the driver couldn't decide whether to go left or right so ran down the central cross hatching and up the crash barrier, coming to a halt perched on top.

There was one on the Withnail side before Christmas where the chap had clearly decided to run all the way down and cut in at the last minute at speed. That was equally impressive.

unfortunately I was travelling at 50mph on one of the busiest road interchanges in the UK at the time.

I figured that by the time the iPhone had woken up and taken a picture it would have been of J5.

My guess was that it would probably appear on the web in the next few days.
