On the look out for a daily driver, not concerned about running costs although i wouldn't mind a bit of real life costs, tax, tyres and servicing etc.. I'm leaning a bit more towards the beemer just because i thinks it's a better looking car but looks aren't everthing..

So of the 2 motors listed which would be your choice and why?

350z, i had the 2007 model with the 309bhp engine. not a thing went wrong with it, sounded lovely with the aftermarked exhaust too. The HR model would destroy the 330 round any track, i averaged 35mpg on long motorway trips, 25mpg average over 2 years with two track days thrown in. its also rare compared to the bmw.

I'd like to try the 350Z having had a 330 but 2 seats makes it useless for me

The BMW is just another bland box in a sea of bland boxes.
For this reason - the 350z.

They are fun too smile

This exactly for me. Even though I know that deep down the BMW is a far better all round package, I'd still take the big Datsun.

A G35 coupe is what you want then. wink They are basically a 2 + 2 350Z.

G35 coupe

I had the sedan version, which gives you a 350Z sedan, (the G35 came before the 350Z)

I'm surprised that it's a choice between these two cars. They're just so different.

I'd go for the 350z without a doubt, would be more fun to drive, and would feel more special.

A 330 just feels bland as you like. Maybe if it was an E46 M3 the choice would be abit harder.

Is that not the Infiniti car?

The G35 is the Infiniti name, and the Nissan is called Skyline 350GT. Same car, different badge.
Or G37/Skyline 370GT

350z for me, E46's look really dated in comparison and as others have said it just blends with every other BMW, the Z stands out...but in a good way.

EXCEPT :

They've ruined it's looks
It's slower
The vast majority are Auto
The rare manuals are over priced (compared to the 350z)

Slightly slower. I 'had fun with' a few 350Z's with my sedan and they are just a tad slower, mainly because they have all the extra weight of the seats. It was only a response to chap who likes the Z but wanted more seats.

Less BHP too.

I looked into them as I'd love a 350Z but I need 2+2 and sadly the 350 GT / Skyline doesn't add up.

Well, I had one, and it was a hoot, despite being the sedan. Many folks had theirs rolling roadbed, and found the engines to be the same HP as the corresponding Z, so whether there was some jiggers pokers in brochures I don't know. I also know they will beat a 330 in a drag race. wink

Not a pretty car mind. hehe

Ah thanks - I know where the Skyline 350GT fits in now smile
I've sat inside a G35 (in Russia!) (think it was a G35) and very nice it was too!!
Did they import any to the UK at all?
