Balls!! What did I hit?

Driving home from work at about half past midnight last night in my 7, just cruising down a dual carriageway at about 80.

Then there was a sudden almighty bang!!!

After composing myself from the sudden shock! And didn't seem anything mechanical, I carried home.

Then in the light I discover something had hit the bottom of my rear wheel arch!!

As you can see, it hit at the bottom, then the force has pulled the bottom 2 rivets out, then started to split the arch just before the 3rd.





Looks like I will have to bond it on at the bottom, as there is no chance of riveting it back on.

Ooof! I'm voting: Rabbit. Heavy enough to ruin your day, but not so heavy that it'll ruin your month.

Could you put a backing plate behind the body panel and rivet through both? Good luck..

Maybe you could drill two more holes near to the original holes and rivet them.

Rivnuts are a wonderful invention




Fit a set of these into the side skin and then bolt your wing on with PLASTIC bolts

Then when you hit something the plastic breaks and your wing falls off without damaging the car
