So how do you feel about them?

other answers will be added to the poll

Personally i can't wait to get one providing they don't outlaw humans driving as i find the commuter run deadly boring

And for those that see it as the end of the world.

Why?

Rather me be driving than put mine and my families lives into the trust of a computer! Remember seeing the press launch of the volvo crashing into the back of a trailer, when it should have braked itself to avoid a collision.

Want one. I love driving, but would also love to have a button to press that allows me to have an extra half hour kip on the way to/ from work and wake me up when I get to my destination.

If it's done on separate roads designed for only automated traffic, then yes.

Pretty much this.
And the person posting earlier about putting lives in the hands of computers, have you ever been on a plane?

Well autopilot has been flying us on holiday and wherever all over the world at 500mph for years so I'm all for it. That is providing I can press a button and regain control much like a pilot can quick sharp!

A sleep on the way home from work when stuck in traffic.

Very, very bad idea for anyone who likes driving, brilliant for everyone else. One day if self driving cars take off, which they will, even PHers like it, it will become illegal not to have a self driving car, and then it really will be the end of the world as we know it.

And we won't feel fine.

Oh it could be WAY better then that

Drive in town, send car to go pick up the shopping, get bladdered, get car to return using mobile, get driven home.

Extending the idea a bit further

Why would you need to own a car I could just send mine to pick you up.

A bit further

Why would either of us need to own a car?

Just push a button and one turns up to pick you up.

the potential is HUGE

providing they are allowed to drive around empty or with a pissed person asleep in the boot

Voted: Yes please as long as humans can drive

FOR MOTORWAY MILE MUNCHING.
I'd love to be able to get on the motorway, push a button and have the car take full control.

When automated cars become mainstream you can forget snoozing on the motorway. It will be the same as using a plane with autopilot. You still won't be allowed to sleep or be under the influence of alcohol. I predict these cars with be only approved for use on motorways.
