electostatically charged fibres applied to dashboards etc to give a suede effect used a lot in motorsport to cut reflective glare off dashboard i want to do it on my 205 interior trim to give a more quality look

Generally in race use to stop your shiny dash reflecting onto your windscreen.

I've used a DIY kit from Frosts Resoration on a dash binnacle part and the result was good. You use the supplied adhesive to cover the part in question, then you 'blow' the flock material onto it, which adheres. Obviously won't be 100% faithful to the proper electrostatic process which makes the flock fibres stand on end, but for a DIY job it wasn't bad at all.

Heavier and more expensive than painting your dash matte black.

It does look nice though, plus you can use fuzzy felts to fix pace notes to your dash.
