Do you need anything special to print it?

Just a regular printer?

That's cool as.

Because normal printers only work in 2D, I think you need two printers, one placed longitudinally and the other horizontally, so the outcome is 3D.

Lots of UK schools have them. And everywhere that does rapid prototyping. And lots of people involved in product design.

Getting a 3D printer is easy, the tricky bit is convincing an OEM to give you 3D data of their car parts.

Are they expensive to get something made up?

Fortunately I have a 3D printer so I shall be printing it in the morning wink

If you keep it at original scale it would take 24 hours on our printer so will scale it down a bit. It would also have used a grand or so's worth of digital material!!

Build now should take about an hour and a half smile

Please post a photo of the result, what printer do you have? At that price I guess it's resin not ABS so you should get a decent finish.

It's very cool that Ford are posting free models, they've done a couple of Mustangs too.

I could print this at Work or University.

I just need to find a valid excuse.

Edit: I could make it into a v12.

I'll post up a photo tonight, the machine is running and printing it now.

We have an Objet Connex 350 which is quite a few ££££££

Currently have resin in there but we do have ABS as well but that would require a material change which in itself isnt cheap!
