Who do you know who is a liability behind the wheel ?
Discussion
I know someone who despite being very cautious has written off two cars in a year, one of my brother in laws used to destroy a company car every few months for a couple of years, a girl at work left the road in streaming rain and was lucky to survive, her car had bald tyres and she was going too fast.
And, probably me as well

I have a friend who is a complete liability behind the wheel.
The first time I met him, I helped to pull his Ford Ka out of a fence he'd skidded into. He's crashed around 15times since. The most recent crash was on ice in the Halifax moors where he skidded into his cousins car doing ~£2000 damage.
He is a complete liability but he doesn't believe it despite being told this at every given oppotunity.
Foruntately he hasn't hit anybody else yet (usually ends up going over roundabouts but not hurting anybody) and as such has no claims bonus and a clean driving record.

If they wear a hat of any discription.
Absolutely agree with this!A friend of the missus is also shockingly bad behind the wheel - I refuse to get in a car with her driving.
She's managed to crash whilst texting and also open her driver's side door into a BMW which was driving past, but her best effort was while she wasn't even in the car...
She parked her new (but probably terrible) little city car on her parents' driveway, went in for Sunday lunch and was promptly interrupted half way through the main course by a neighbour alerting her to the fact her car was in the middle of the road blocking all the traffic. She'd not put the handbrake on properly. And this happened twice. On two different occassions! Truly truly dismal!

My dad is in his late 50's and tends to wear a flat cap.. he has a completely unblemished driving history and despite losing his temper sometimes, is very careful on the road. So you can rule that one out

Besides, the true art of the hat wearing maniac is to cause the incident, but not get caught up in it.

Anyone driving a newer shape nissan micra.
HAHA!Was just about to start typing the below when I read this!
A friend of my missus, in a newer shape micra. When I met her for the first time, she asked if i could 3 point turn the car for her, because she couldn't, despite the fact this was a wide cul-de-sac AND she had reversing sensors. On driving down the motorway, she treated us to driving 2 foot from someones rear with her high beams on (my politeness was overridden at that point and i had to say something).
The amusing thing though is that she refuses to drive over 2500 rpm incase the engine breaks. Pulling out of a junction is a terrifying experience - into first, pull off, hit 1500 rpm, then into second, and we're barely across the first lane. Basically the minimum needed to travel in a gear.
Mate of mine went sharply into a bend, tried at catch something off the dashboard and forgot to stop turning.... Ended up in a hedge.... This same bloke also came up to a set of red lights with a car stopped at them, was looking forward yet still didn't brake and went straight up their backside... Three days after he had got the car back when he blew the engine by not having any water in the radiator... He then wonders why I refuse to get in a car with him...
The bloke who I lift share with will, ultimately, be responsible for my premature death one day, and knowing my luck it won't be on the way to work so I'll have to do a whole day in a rubbish job and then die.
He's just a bloody awful driver. Drives really slowly, is constantly changing gear yet somehow remains incapable of being in the right gear for any given situation, slams the brakes on if a mouse on the verge looks like it might jump out in front of us and on several occasions has nearly had a head on crash in our village despite me having seen cars coming the opposite direction from 100 yards away. He occasionally gives the impression of being aware of hazards and adjusting speed accordingly, but he slows down so much from his already pedestrian "speed" that anyone waiting to pull out from a side junction could be forgiven for thinking that he was slowing down to turn off the main drag and then pull out in front of him. I bet he's "seen" dozens of accidents.
He brakes inappropriately hard, so much so that I dare not pick my nose in the car - don't judge me, you all do it. I'd almost guarantee that if I sat there doing it once he'd find some reason to haul on the anchors so hard that I'd smash my face into his dashboard, thus ramming my pinky up into my skull. I don't want my wife picking up my death certificate with cause of death reading "fingernail inserted into brain".
I hate myself for not valuing my life more than the £35 in petrol I save every other week by lift sharing.

Father in law, round every roundabout on the outside, I sit there cringing waiting for the crunch or horn. Drives really quickly, even when the are in front has indicated to turn right and is waiting for traffic to clear, just carries on regardless as if he hasn't seen them. Probably hasn't. The man gives me a near nervous breakdown every journey.
Along with the people with tissues, hats and Micras I'd like to nominate dogs, especially on the parcel shelf.
