1000's of $$$$s in custom parts and years of work building a Supra that covers a 1/4 mile well under 9 seconds and they chop it for parts... some of which are so rare, they probably can't sell 'em anyway

This grinds my gears.

The annoying thing is that not only have the ****s stolen/destroyed the car their idea of a good profit is probably insignificant relative to the time/effort/$$$ invested in such a car.

At least they broke it for parts, the indigenous itinerant purveyors of ferrous materials in this country think nothing of whipping a car off your path just to weigh in for scrap, we had two separate lots showing an unhealthy interest in our Fiat 500, flat bed, Hiab and they get £100 cash for a classic car with much effort invested as they just scrap it. A chap on Retro Rides spent a long time converting a Golf Caddy pickup to 4wd and VR6 turbo power, he came home to find it being loaded onto a flatbed, I think they look for stuff that looks like you might not miss it or might not miss it for a while.

It wouldn't surprise me if this was an insurance job. That's just a hunch though.
