We all know you can pick up Lotus 7 style cars for about £10k, but for £2k, whats the least practical car you can buy?
It has to be a runner, so no "This one doesnt start, that makes it very impractical."

I'll tentatively go with this XJ-S V12. It's so full of ruinous b0rk you'll never get anywhere with it. tongue out

That, or a leggy P38 RR, that's so terrible you'd have to use it as a shed most of the time.

Mk3 MR2 (MR-S) would be a good bet - 2 seats, no boot, £2k.

How about a dutton kit car for £1750 which is on gumtree,
There's a couple on for under 2 grand on there.
Its got two seats no boot and bound to be unreliable and put together from new with cable ties and double sided sticky tape, with a clapped out sierra engine most probably with a nice pinto cam rattle on start up.
On the other hand it may be a gem which has been put together by someone with an eye for detail and OCD.

Or if your a fan of changing head gaskets how about an MG and you should should still be £1500 in pocket to spend on repairs.
I here they made a steptronic one which was really dire.

And still looking really fresh design.
You will not lose any money on these buy now and 5 years time sell for at least the same.
