A friend just posted these pics on his Facebook page.
He phoned up the council to complain of the shoddy repair and was told they use the van to flatten the surface of pothole repairs now....job well done then and well worth the effort.

That is by far and away, the worst and laziest 'repair' I've ever seen.He phoned up the council to complain of the shoddy repair and was told they use the van to flatten the surface of pothole repairs now....job well done then and well worth the effort.
As I've said before, send a couple of trained chimps out with a tonne of generic AC, and tell them to fill in as many holes as possible. It'd take another few seconds per hole to use one of these:

Although any self-respecting streetworks trained operative would use one of these:

I believe the correct terminology is compacted in service.
Really need to use plate compactor these days... but that'd be a twoman person lift and require a ramped low bed van, you can't technically lift one from a flat bed transit due to weight.
.
Much better to send a single operative with a tub of cold lay then repeat every few weeks.

Well using one of those would require a proper system of hand arm vibration monitoring and methods of reducing exposure to "as low as practically possible", having systems of work designed to keep employees below the ELV is no longer acceptable to HSE. TBH not quite sure how you comply with this when using wackers without some form of worker rotation system.

kers, even a garden roller would have done a better job. I'd threaten to go to the papers and kick up a fuss unless they come back and do it properly
even they are not THAT bad now
