I've been looking at buying myself a Nissan 350Z.. They have a square rear plate..

I have a personalised reg of T8FTE which id like to put on.

Is it legal for it on one line? or would the spacing be incorrect meaning i need it over 2 lines? / Custom bumper with regular plate holder?

JDM imports 350z have a square rear plate, UK ones have a normal one.

You could probably get all 5 characters on one line, i'm sure on import plates you're allowed to bunch them up more than normal, theres a few people round my end that have plates like that and they never seem to change them so I imagine its ok..

Thanks, would the bumpers be a straight swap as that may be an easier way around it.. I'm sure i read somewhere plates can be any size as long as the font, and spacing is to standard..

I'm pretty sure on import plates you can use the standard for bike plates which makes the spacing between the letters smaller some what?

No "special rules" for imports I'm afraid.

Where a vehicle has been allocated a UK registration number, the number plate must comply with the specification and standards laid out in the Road Vehicles ( Display of Registration Marks) Regulations 2001, as amended. Certain imported vehicles may be permitted to display numberplates with smaller characters if the vehicle does not have European Community Vehicle Type Approval and the vehicle's construction/design cannot accommodate standard size numberplates.

This ^^^ used to be the case...as far as I know it hasn't been changed.
