Morning guys
I am on a train going from London to stoke on Trent to hopefully buy a 2008 (58) scirocco for my other half.

Any chance someone could do me a valuation on glasses/caps??

As said its a 58 plate, 2.0 TSI GT, manual with 66k.

It would appear in great nick and is a private sale.

Many thanks in advance

That's not very nice wink

It doesn't matter what glasses/cap etc say. It's all down to what the market says they're worth. And often there is a fair difference!

I never look at guides as they are usually misguiding (wait to get flamed) - you see what these cars are selling for but that takes time.
I would want to give no more than £9500 for it. Lots up at 10k and not shifted.

The problem is there are none out there in the bright red.

So you pay a premium for the colour you want supply/demand or you get the best condition, best mileage model you can for the best price?
I know what I'd, I would compromise on colour but that doesn't say you drop your standard so low you buy a doom blue 996 just so you can say you've got a 911.

AKA dog cock red? Just because you like it, the market won't.

This one seems to be about £500 behind dealer retail for the mileage, so I'd be opening with about £1k off again.

It's still one of the cheapest though so it depends how much you want it.

In red it has to be cheaper than the norm. I would defintely go low on the bid and use the colour as the bargaining tool.

Or better still a link to the advert.

They already have hooked you up anyway - if someone came to view my car from 200 miles away on a train I wouldn't budge on price.

I've just found an exact model red one for £9995 - not that rare.

With the 'Rocco the biggest factor after the mileage is the spec as to how much its worth, if its got naff all on it I wouldn't even bother to be honest and if i was to bother i'd be paying far less than that, some people clearly got them on lease because they are a good looking car and spec'ed nothing based on some on the market right now.

I have just put a deposit down my on a 58 plate one with every option bar xenons, mine is blue though not red and much lower mileage.

Ignore the idiots quoting 73p etc.. i'm sure you've realised by now that this place is a mix of extremely useful friendly people and absolute helmets, unforunately at this time of the morning the absolute helmets are probably returning in from a ketamine fueled night out in newcastle and need to post some bks on here to finish it off.

Thanks mate!
It is very well specced and from what I can make out totally immaculate.
I like the blue but partner wanted the bright red, not the rusty red.
Been looking for a private red one for a while and not many about.
Just been reading some reviews and they don't sound too bad.

In the process of selling my lancia delta integrale evo 2 so will also be shopping for a new car soon!

Don't sell the Delta! You'll regret it.
