2001 Audi TT Hazard lights won't stop flashing! Help please

My 2001 225 TT has developed a strange problem, the hazard lights keep coming on without me pressing them. It started a couple days ago and after. I turned them off I would get 15 or more minutes without them coming back on. The car was parked in my office car park.

It then flattened the battery so when. Jump started it today the problem is still very much there and now as soon as I turn them off they go straight back on again!!!

Any ideas? Your help is much appreciated!!!!!!!

Short circuit on the lighting? Bad connections?

Don't know too much about Audis, but I'd be running round with a multimeter trying to find where the circuit's being switched on.

Silly thing too, the button/relay isn't sticking on the dash/console?
