'FIX ME' painted on potholes

Martin Hill, routine maintenance manager, said the council had not received any enquiries about these potholes.
He said: "We have found several potholes in Swanage that have been marked in this way... and anyone caught doing it could be prosecuted.
"It's important to note that the roads in Swanage are in no worse state than the rest of the county or the country."
That's re-assuring then.

Brilliant.
"Dorset County Council said such actions were illegal and the potholes had already been identified for repair."
How boring, get over yourselves and fix the bloody things, it just makes you look a t
t saying that.
What excatly will you get prosecuted for and why is it illegal anyway?

king job and maintaining the highway. What an absolute cock.
He could have played that in two ways.
Option 1. What he said. Result = cock.
Option 2. Say, we appreciate the info but far better to call us on XYZ and it will go onto the system and get fixed faster. Result = decent chap.
What he's said would antagonise me even more. I'd be out every night stealthily spraying every bloody pot hole I could find.

Would it be ethical of me to encourage PH'ers around the country to follow suit, and get out the paint can's? It's about time that we found some way off hitting back over the appalling state of our roads. Cost to me so far has been +£1200 for wheels and tyres on a E34.
Well, if you've had wheels and tyres damaged, why don't you take a photo of a ruler sticking out of the pothole to show its depth, with your damaged car in the background? Councils have to pay for damages to cars caused by excessive potholes, though right now I forget the maximum "acceptable" depth.ETA - Turns out 40mm is the depth at which repair is deemed necessary.

I think we need a Council Bodger cull. When we had a severe spell of cold weather a year or so ago these potholes suddenly appeared everywhere. In short-sighted and time-honoured fashion, the Councils eventually got round to bodging them up during the following months. Now all it takes is a spot of heavy rain or a single frosty night and all the Council bodges promptly disintegrate all over the road.
Heaven forbid anyone who points this out to them, though.

Pointless attention seekers.
I just reported a few potholes on my road. It's easy. No need for that level of attention seeking.
They've fixed them yet then...? I've reported tens of potholes and never seen one fixed.I just reported a few potholes on my road. It's easy. No need for that level of attention seeking.
As presumably no one's claimed the handiwork it's the pothole not the aspiring artist claiming the attention and those potholes seem to need attention.
