Living in a narrow and quiet cul-de-sac, the refuse collection lorry drivers do not always have an easy access most collection days, far from it. As there's always cars and Transit sized vans parked making things difficult for them. Twice on a Wednesday, the recycling and refuse collection drivers have to reverse their vehicles all the way down. No chance of turning one of those. They always manage to avoid touching parked cars and the Transits each week, unlike drivers of light commercials who have been known to take a door mirror off or put a dent in a panel.

Whilst clearing thick frost off my car earlier today, they made their collections. Again skillfully reversing their trucks using only the mirrors which must now be second nature. I sometimes struggle to do that in a Rover 25 .. smile

Not the best way to earn a crust but, when I exchange a few words they are mostly polite and cheerful. Credit where credit is due being my moto and they do a fine job.

Aye, they made it up my snowy one-in-nothing road on Monday morning. Very impressed, thought my bin wouldn't be emptied this week.

They did, however, crease a pal's car a while ago, going FORWARDS, then denied all knowledge of it.

Did you say TWICE in one day...? We get one every other week.

Recycling every Wednesday, Wheelie Bin Refuse every other Wednesday. Today was the turn for both collections.

they are good, normally nice working hours aswell.
i did 2 weeks holiday relief on an agency between tours, good little number.
not sure if its the same all over, but as the driver, i just drove mainly, as the loaders were so quick and on the ball. you did have to weave in and out of some tight spots, the trucks were all auto, with reversing cameras. was normally finished 1-2pm most days.
bit whiffy at the end of the day though going onto the landfill. some big seagulls on the landfill eek

gritter drivers also. full credit to them right now, everywhere i've been has been kept clear.

I disagree with this. A while back I couldn't get anything in my usual line of work so rather than sit on my ass all day I thought I'd have a crack at this. I loved it and would carry on doing it if it paid anything like what I earn now.
