An HPI check (note, HPI, not some other mickey mouse lookey likey) includes the VIN.

What is the car? On my car is displayed on the top of the dashboard, you can see it through the windscreen

Members and retail HPI returns differ.

Certainly they used to be. Its a good while since Ive been a member though. You had to pay about £60 to join plus a minimum amount to be held in credit. Each enquiry cost about £2:50 which was deucted from your credit balance.

I used 'My Text Check' a year or so ago and Im sure that it included the serial number part from the end of the VIN.

If youre familiar with the car then you may be able to substitute the first characters? I could do this for a Porsche, but wouldnt know where to start for a Ford...

I have access to a huge vehicle database, I might be able to help with this if you can tell me the full registration number.
