Just watched this video for the first time and am glad that Harris comes round to the idea of them to some degree as generally I consider him to the be the only journalist who is very very rarely influenced by others and his opinions always appear to be his own.

However:

I personally think he misses one of the biggest plus points about this car....the fact that this is a car that the relatively inexperienced can completely abuse and corner in fashions whilst banging of the rev limiter that other cars simply wouldn't tolerate without dropping the driver in big trouble.

He also doesn't seem to really be wringing its neck that much which is where they really wake up. Cruising along in them really does highlight the lack of rigidity in the chassis and yes they are if we are honest a bit too heavy but grab it by its throat and this seems to be get hidden and its slightly soft approach to things seems to aid full throttle driving across our poorly surfaced British B roads where this car belongs.

Yes I know another MX5 thread......I'm sorry........I just cant seem to get the thing out of my head since I sold mine and the memory of approaching the limiter at 0.90 ish leptons whilst feeling the back end hopping out chasing a friend on a favorite country road has not ever come close to being beaten. I was certainly the one out the two of us who got out with the bigger smile.

Maybe i'm wrong.
