Just used my snow chains that i purchased 2 years ago for the first time..

My BMW drove through 7-8 inches of snow with ease and almost no wheel spin.. to say im pleased with my £25 snow chains is an understatement..

Just thought i'd share :-)

I used some Auto Socks on my work van. Really easy to fit and turned the van from a wheel spinning mess to something that was very easy to drive in the snow.

I dont think enough people carry things like auto socks or chains.. take up practically no room and work wonders..

Yup, they're good to have when you need them.
One word of advice - IF it's flapping when you are going along, because it's worked a little loose, don't think "it's only for a few minutes, it'll be fine". Jacking up the car in the snow to remove a broken chain that's wrapped around the suspension arms is much harder than stopping to tighten them.

Luckly i only used mine for about 30 yards... with a max of walking pace.. any further i would stop to re-tension.. thanks for the advice smile
