I'm meant to be travelling from Cornwall to stoke on Trent tommorow, so A30-M5-M6, the wife is telling me its a silly idea because of the snow! Can anyone local to this route let me know what the weather and roads are like at the moment? It's glorious sunshine down here at present, just a bit chilly!

Stoke has been hard hit by the snow, and it's still snowing now. Just been for a quick walk around with the wife & kid however and the major roads seem to be slushy at worse - so as long as you aren't driving a rear-wheeled shopping trolley with bald tires all-round, I'm sure you will be fine. It is, however, still snowing - so might be worse overnight if it freezes, but I would be reasonably comfortable doing it.

Just been to stoke, main roads are clear, I'd check the traffic and travel in the morning.

Crucially, ring the place you're going to and ask them what the last 100 yards from the main road are like.

Depends lot on what part of Stoke your going too. Town centers no problem, Mow Cop i`d think twice and phone where you are going to find out what it`s like. Just remember though that it`s a long run and the weather can change in a minute.

We've had quite a bit in Staffs but main roads are no problem.

Everything's clear except a few side roads, bit more forecast overnight but I wouldn't stress.

What is Cornwall like weather wise for roads? We were going there last Saturday, to view a house.

However as the weather was so bad we did not go in the end.
So we have rebooked for this Saturday.

Just got here and checked into the hotel, the roads were absolutely fine all the way here so no bother there! Is there much going on here of an evening? Staying at festival way so I don't think the town centre is too far away

Cornwall seems to be fine, a little bit of snow last night which was nice to wake up to this morning but I think it's melted away again now, where abouts are you heading?

No problems with snow in Devon or Cornwall, except perhaps on the smaller roads high on the moors.

Bit late unless you're there 2 nights but Hanley has a few pubs & bars, generally of the cheap/colourful veriety! Cinema on festival park also.
