V5 questions

I bought a mazda 3 MPS from a garage on 30/12/12 and was just curious as to when Im likely to the receive the new V5. I know it depends on when the dealer sent it off but lets assume he sent it on the 2nd after the new year, how long is the normal waiting period.

Aswell as picking this new car up my friend who is also a car salesman took my old car off me which has since been sent to auction through his garage. I sent off the slip advising I had sold the car to a garage on monday the 7th. Will i get anything from the DVLA confirming they know im no long the RK?

I've had them as soon as 10 days and as long as 4 weeks. The dvla get loads of post so can imagine loads go missing as most of us have experienced.
If it takes longer then 4 weeks just apply for another one.

I'd expect the V5C back any time now, weather may have delayed it.

You'll get a little slip from DVLA acknowledging that you're no longer the registered keeper of your other car. Keep this.

It was all sent recorded delivery but just thought checking here before chasing it up.
