Wouldn't say 25k buys you a 'basic' golf but I still take your point, a lot of car for the money. Looks better than the Mulsanne too!

Lovely. Now that is a set of rugs (couldn't be described as mats).

What a cracking car for £25k. Huge running costs no doubt but it's a hell of a car.

Not a problem, I'm sure that will cost the same as a basic Golf also...

Oil and filter change, replacement of dust and pollen filters, key fob batteries and a full diagnostic test and report. In addition, checks of the brake pads and discs, brake fluid level, suspension, steering, fuel system, cooling system and hoses is also undertaken. Further tests and checks are carried out on all exterior and interior lighting, internal warning lamps and the vehicles on board diagnostic system, including a report on the tyre pressure monitor battery status (when fitted).

The service book for your vehicle will also be endorsed with our official Bentley Dealer stamp, maintaining the integrity of the service history. As each service is tailored to the specific model, mileage and year of manufacture, the actual content will vary, so please contact our service department for full details.

Only your local Authorised Bentley Dealer can truly look after your vehicle, and whilst there may be other outlets that claim to provide a service, only the Bentley network fully understands the intricate components and system of your vehicle. As your local dealer, we have direct access to factory support, the latest diagnostic equipment and factory trained technicians - who better to guarantee the on-going maintenance of your vehicle?
Additional Maintenance

We understand that the replacement of brake pads and discs can also increase the costs associated with maintaining your Bentley so we have now introduced an Arnage fixed price brake plan (all prices are including VAT at the current rate).

Front Brake Pads replaced = £502
Rear Brake Pads replaced = £338
Front Brake Discs & Pads replaced = £1,173
Rear Brake Discs & Pads replaced = £749

I'm half tempted. It might cost a little more than a regular car to service, but it's got to be worth it to own a proper Bentley......

yes I think for £25k you could get quite a few options, the most basic 1.2 Mk7 Golf is £16,940

I thought the same when I read that!

However, after a little more judicious Googling and seriously thinking it may be a good idea to purchase one of these, it appears that you can significantly cut the costs through using Indy's. One assumes that, like in all walks of motoring life, a good Indy will be able to do a significantly better job of keeping one of these old girls in fine fettle than the main dealer groups, whilst providing a, not to be sniffed at, cost advantage.....

I'm now left pondering where I am a little young for one of these at 38...

Had I the funds I'd jump into one at 26, nevermind 38. Everyone will think you've won the lottery. biggrin

I would think I'd won the lottery, coming out and seeing that sat on the drive, never mind actually wafting around in it..

Fabulous cars and I think that good ones may not shed value too quickly now. That what you wanted to hear? biggrin

Same engine and box as a 7 series with a couple of turbos. For me, it's not worth 10x the cost of a good 7er though I appreciate that misses the point.

Personally, if I were after a Bentley it would need to be bigger, more elitist and have an engine at least 50% larger, like this old Hector here:

Yeah, I knew that. Honest wink

Still, for me an Arnarge just doesn't do it, the old cars are just more correct.
