Reading through the forum had had me hankering after one of my boyhood idols:- the good old Rover Coupe.

Now either I'm missing a trick or my expectations are way out of kilter!

Just done a generic search for said car with a limited to 2k per annum policy etc etc the quotes are coming in skyward of 800odd quid on the vvc model. I'm 30 yrs old have 6 yrs no claims and no points!

How do people kerp their insurance costs down when running multiple cars?

My bubble has well n truly burst

I find classic insurance is better using old fashioned telephoning. Every time I've done an online quote its been barmy high.
There are countless good companies to use, Carol Nash, Peter Best and Lancaster are ones I've used - wouldn't use AF again. Terrible service!!

As above, the comparison sites won't help you. You need to phone a few specialists.

It's worth picking up a copy of one of the classic car mags from your local newsagents - there's always a few pages of insurance co adverts in there - and then spend a bit of time phoning through them.

I'd have thought you should be looking at about £150 p.a. for the Rover.

You just have to do the legwork try footmsn Jsmes, lancaster, Adrian Flux etc.

I have a Caterham (£160)
4 Capris (£360)
Newish Defender (£500)

Modern classics are always a challenge, it often takes time in underwriting and individual policies. I have had 3 capris all with different insurance companies one yesr, IE 2.8 Capri modern classic AON, 1.6 Daily Lancaster, MK1 3.0 Footman James.

Did try an online quote with lancs last night still coming in with them over 1k.

I'd best get my head round if I'm serious enough to go and buy one.

Surely my post code can't be that high a grading? I was expecting a couple of hundred based on the miles and relative value of the car. Towards a grand just seems silly to me

Try Classicline. Great prices. NCB irrelevant.

What's the first half of your postcode?

Insurance post code ratings here. May be a bit out of date, but still a useful indicator.

Wow according to that I live in one of the worst areas in Britain! That's utter b..locks but hey ho. An F rating for me could possibly be the reason for silly quotes then?
