Looking for inspiration, time coming to replace my legacy spec B estate but change of circumstances dictates a
replacement that can fit 3 child seats in rear as legacy is really narrow. I dont want to use a booster cushion for
any of the kids however.

Budget around 18k so I'm hoping for inspiration!

S6 was top of my list but cant fit 3 seats from what Ive been told. Not exactly quick but thought of a XC90 v8 but wondering if
anyone else had any experience of a similar scenario

I am in a simmilar place and going for a Dodge Challenger :-) a little over your budget circa £24k but may be an option depending on what floats your boat

They did as S-max with the 2.5 5 cylinder ST engine. I can confirm they fit 3 baby seat across, but there is also room behind the second row. My bro had a diesel Smax but now has a diesel XC90 for his 4 young kids.

I may have a similar need in a year or so, but IMO there is no point in having a fast baby carrier, just a swiftish on for the wife and i will try to get something fast for myself.

If an A6 is too small how about an A8 4.2TDI?

I have a friend in a similar predicament.

Forget regular estates - you're not getting 3 across the back of those.

You're into:

X5 (recent model)
XC90
S-Max
LR Discovery

Buy an XC90.

SMax 2.5T, you can get 6 child seat in it - assuming no grown ups, 7 if you teach a sprog to drive.

We went through the same quandry, will swap out to a V70 or 5series estate when they're in booster though, SMax may be the "best handling MPV" but it's still a bit st.

Buy an XC90.
hehe

The premise of the post is for it to be fast.

Even the T6 XC90 is slower than a slow thing.

Try again!
Therefore, buy the X5. The only problem will be finding a seven seater for £18k.

I'm afraid you does have to man up OP and buy either a SUV or MPV. the MPV will be the better drive no doubt, S Max probably pick of the 7 seaters.

Mates got a Galazy with the 2.2 TDCi engine and its pretty swift-ish considering its size. 175 bhp I think.

£15k will get you a 09 reg so no need to spend the whole £18k.

Audi Q3 might have 3 isofix.
I'm fairly sure the Q5 does.
Perhaps not sports fars though.

What about an older Cayenne?
