surely even at 124k and serviced at regular intervals this is pretty cheap, the alloys are a bit odd looking surely some M sport would suit but no bad for the money

Doesn't seem that cheap to me with a manual box, SE spec, basic alloys and pretty much no extras.

Cheap? Really? A 9 year base model, low(ish) powered car with 124k on the clock....

It may be the fact that cars like this could be perceived as being scary to own. I have read many times on here comments from people who say they would never own something like this out of warranty.

I suppose that these things are now getting into smoker barge price territory. But, with all of the gizmos and things on them, they could produce big bills.

Of course, I may be talking rubbish.

Edited to add - seen responses above. I am talking st. smile

SE... 9 years old... manual... small wheels... small petrol engine... high mileage... I'd say it's priced about right. Not to say it's a bad car. The E60 is ageing well and this one looks to be in good nick.

How have you managed to find that specific car in among all the other E60's at the same or similar money with much better spec and less miles on the trader?

What an odd question.

0-60 in 8.7s with the manual gearbox. Not a rocketship, but 170bhp is enough for a car of this size.

You could well be right, although, stick some msport wheels on it and advertise it in Bradford/Leeds and you will make a few grand easy. a better badge would also increase the value, im thinking 535i

I like those wheels, plus unlike silly large wheels on a 'normal' road car you might have some ride quality to speak of, unless they are effin run flats.

You'd also get an unbelievable load of hassle from people who you really would rather not have any contact with, not to mention thinly-veiled threats when you refuse to sell it for half the price for 'cash, innit', as well as many hours spent waiting around for people who are supposed to test-drive it but don't show up.

That's a few grand profit someone else is welcome to make.

It's nine year-old, under-engined, barge. 4k sounds expensive to me!

I had the M54B22 (2.2 litre) in an E39 touring (1700KG) and it's actually quite nippy. Far better than the M52 150BHP predecessor. The VANOS gives it a nice and usable powerband. A suprisingly whizzy and high revving motor

Totally agree, I actually think its about right if not a little high. You can get an e39 a year older better spec, same miles about £1500 less.

£4k for a 9 year old base model of the ugliest 5 series ever built? No thanks.

Needs a v8 to be a barge or a derv to be desirable, It's niether of those. Plus poverty spec.
