A what car thread for Friday
Discussion
I've finally sorted a car for Mrs Herbs which is being delivered tomorrow just in time as she is due to give birth in two weeks so the focus now turns to my car.
I will apologise in advance on what I am looking for as they will appear to be a bit of a contradiction.
Use:
daily driver 30 mile commute on a micture of dual A roads and country B roads
MPG - needs consideration but not overly fussy - the most economical car i have had in the last 6 years is a 911!
Will be used occasionally for visiting clients but can always be parked out of the way.
I am in a bit of a quandry as half of my head says gets something sensible whilst the other half of my head and Mrs Herbs says get a 2 seater roadster
I have a budget of £6-£8 but can do to £10k although I don't want to.
I am basically looking for semi-sensible or smiles per £.
The current list is:
Semi Sensible:
Audi A6
Audi A8
Lexus GS
BMW X5
Porsche Cayenne (really poor MPG so probably not)
Nissan Murano
Mazda CX7
Volvo C70 (like and dislike in equal measure)
BMW E60
Toureg
If i went for one of these then boot space to accomodate the baby travel system and ISOfix is paramount.
Smiles per £
Z4 3.0 (had one before and really miss it)
Z4 2.5
Nissan 350Z Roadster
??
I like toys on my car and spend a large amount of my commute on business calls so bluetooth, Nav are eseentail whilst heated seats, parking sensors and toys in general are well received.
Ford, Vauxhall and VW are out (except the Toureg) prely because of personal preference as is anything French (Citroen excluded).
I'd appreciate your thoughts on the above cars and any other ones you could throw into the mix.
