How reliable is Askmid?
I started insurance on Friday the 18th and I checked today and my motor is still showing as not insured. My Insurance place is closed today so I cant get hold of anyone but ive been told not all insurance companies supply Askmid with details.
Is this true or should I be worried?

Anything up to 7 days for it to show up. Have you received the certificate in the post or on email? If so check it has the correct registration number on it.

As reliable as the people who update it.

EFA smile

When we looked through this a couple of years back werent they allowed to take 14 days but no penalty if they didnt?

Best rule is dont rely on it. Dont drive anything until you have the certificate in your hand

I just realised this morning that the documents hadn't arrived that's why I thought about checking askmid. Luckily I don't need to use the motor so I will phone insurance on Monday.

Is it true a lot of companies don't use askmid or is that rubbish? Just curious

Insurers of private cars have to upload info to MID by law, and Askmid takes info off that database.
