How much money do you deem ok to lose when upgrading?

There must be no outlay/ £50/ £500/ £1000/ £2000....etc

I'll be selling my 4x4 as soon as i've found a new car, i've only had it for 6 months but got the itch to change again. I've kind of already accepted i'm not going to sell it private for what I paid @ the Nissan dealer last year, in fact private I reckon i'll make a £1000 loss on what I paid. If I part ex it i'd reckon a £2000 loss. I don't think I paid over the odds, and it was the best example I found after looking at many with a 1 year warranty too. Just that the private prices always seem that much cheaper.

For those veterans who get the car change itch every year, how do you manage it without wasting money each year? or for those of you who have recently changed motors, do you have e figure that you accept is purely lost money/depreciation or do you only buy with the capital you make from the car sale itself?

I lost 10K when i sold the M3 4 years ago, so i have come up with a cunning plan to stop this happening again.

I just buy cars, don't sell them hehe

I do the new car every 6-12 months thing 'cause I get bored, but I've only lost money on one of them out of 6.

I'm just that good.

Dont lose any money and in most cases, attempt to make money against the original purchase price..

Don't buy new cars. wink
