Spending too long peering at PH discussions and news and SOTW, and, like others on here, currently wanting (in my case) an old Rangy, a slightly less old Impreza, a cheap MX-5 and maybe an Elise or a 5 series estate..... :-)

Now, whilst most of these are still on the wishlist, it's the ongoing insurance more than the purchase price, since some of these might well be under SOTW levels - so am wondering if multiple car insurance policies offer a real saving? Or are there other cheaper options? After all, between the 2 of us we can't drive any more than 2 cars so the risk doesn't really rise after 2 - so a policy ought to be not much more for 3, 4 or 5 cars..... am sure it won't be like that, but are there savings to be had? Or is using a price comparison site for each individual one the way to go?

Are there any other routes? e.g. register as a trader (I'm not) and get trade insurance?

We have a multicar policy with Admiral, when I added a 4th car with 3 drivers it was very cheap. Trouble is that having had to make a claim there is no way I can recommend Admiral. It is always said that you only find out how good an insurance company are when you claim. Admiral are anything but good and will definitely not be getting my renewal.

Admiral were competitive with multicar insurance but I got a better deal going through brokers in the end (A-Plan for 1 and Chris Knott for the other 2). I know who I prefer to deal with too.

I've been with admiral for 2 years for multicar. And I have had to make a claim, they have been very good in that respect. Legal cover as standard smile

I had the opposite problem, they were really good when we had a crash (car value bargaining aside), but couldnt give us a good multicar quote on renewal...
