I'm a petrol head with a bit of a problem.

I drive a Honda Jazz.

And I like it!

I've had two fiestas and a Honda civic Jordan that I wore out and replaced with the jazz.

I like it because its actually a really fun car to drive.

I know its low on power but the handling for the car is pretty good.

I drove a brand new golf 1.6 tdi recently for a period and it was nice to have toys and relatively silent running but it wasn't as economical as I thought it should be.

I have been looking for a replacement for the jazz.

Id like a little more power but I don't know if I'd truely use it.

The car needs to be reliable, ideally a hatch but saloon or estate id consider.

Have drove fabia vrs diesel and civic es 2.2ctdi.

I do all my own servicing apart from bigger jobs like clutch or cambelt. I don't want to get a car and suddenly have to do a big job that I wouldn't need to do so I'm tempted to look at a n/a petrol...but economy would suffer.

Budget is 5-7k.

There are a lot of cars I could get but I don't know if I'm looking in the right area. I'm not a badge snob but I don't plan on looking for french...
