So what's the oldest car that still feels modern?
Discussion
Have cars pretty much reached a point of minimal improvement each year? My old 2002 Vectra B felt very dated when I sold it a couple of years ago.
I replaced it with a 2004 Honda Accord which if I'm honest still feels ultra modern.
It's 9 years old but still looks pretty sharp.
It's got Xenons, Parking sensors, touch screen sat-nav, dual zone climate, cruise, heated leather, sunroof, bluetooth, ipod connectivity.....and still feels thoroughly modern.
Parked next to my neighbours 12/62 plate Merc and Audi I don't feel at all inferior. If anything I feel smug as my old bus does everything theirs does, has the same if not more toys, looks pretty sharp yet is probably worth 1/10th of what theirs cost.

I always felt that Espace IV was a good example of an "old" car that still felt and looked modern.
When it was pulled from the UK this time last year it had been in production for 9 years and yet apart from trim and engine upgrades and two very minor facelifts which really only constituted new head and tail lamps and a few bits of chrome, it still looked and drove like a bang up to date modern car, it's still in production for the LHD market and there is no sign of a replacement.
It's a very good piece of design that just hasn't aged at all, interior and exterior.
