Now, i know it needs >1.6mm tread across centre 3/4 of tyre....what do we reckon? this is drivers side front tyre by the way

clearly have an issue (i hope that's it anyway)....tyres are about 20k miles old and the centre areas have about 4-5mm tread left but will probably need replacing soon due to this.

is it worth going to get tracking sorted now, or waiting until i replace the tyres?

or could it be something else like front wishbones etc?

cheers

Just a random punt, are these runflats?

Legal but I would get it in, new tyres and tracked soon as you might leave it, forget for a while, get pulled and its showing cord, think it is ok for now though.

Regardless of the legality that won't shift much water in the wet.

Replace and get the geo checked, tyres are cheaper than bumpers smile

Looks like you need a wheel alignment doing promptly - too much positive camber possibly!

yes boxedin

tyres aren't run-flats for the chap who asked. I'll get the car booked in as soon as I can.

is it possible it's just tracking, or more likely something a little more serious?

cheers

I would get those changed immediately as I have unlimited disposable income. You should also buy the most expensive brand you can find as the others are crap.

Plenty of tread left on the inner 3/4s but that outer shoulder could get you into trouble. I'd suggest it's toeing in excessively. Tyres and tracking, as suggested already.

I'd be a bit worried about wet-weather handling on the motorway with them in that state!

Replace the entire suspension assembly and fit winter tyres too for good measure.

I doubt an MOT station or a rozzer would see it as legal or road worthy.

It's pretty borderline and just plain dangerous in the winter months.

I would get them replaced and the suspension / tracking checked as its
not normal wear.
