A new and exciting fault on the E39 this evening... short drive after getting back to the train station, supermarket, missed item from the shopping list acquired, flowers for extra points, and despite being hungry I managed to avoid buying anything else smile

Back to the old barge, sat down fairly quickly into the seat I guess, key in the ignition, and the moment I twisted it.....POP! eek

What the fking fk was that?! Waft of burning, hmm gunpowder, which cheeky bugger is firing fireworks in an underground car park?!

Traced the acrid stink to the driver's seat, felt like someone hitting the seat frame with a hammer. Seatbelt still works, airbag light on, looks like they're £20 on eBay... didn't realise you could post such things either!

So, another thing to fix smash

Glad I didn't do the seatbelt up before turning the ignition on!

Oooh,I haven't had that fault yet ..... must be my turn soon.

Fantastic cars, but the electrics, with age, are somewhat challenging.

Be pleased you didn't have the belt done up, I had one go off for real on an ovlov, it pulled me into the seat so well, it smacked my arse on something metal and cracked my cox thingy (not sure how it is spelt, but it hurts for a long time !)

Ouch - Yep, being yanked into the seat by the pre-tensioner wasn't on my Friday night list of things to experience... thankfully avoided!
