Just been to view a 350z, paint question

Just been to see a 53 plate Nissan 350z and wanted to check a couple of things. The paint was solid black, are all the black ones non metallic? Also the paint seemed to be very orange peely and as i've not seen another 350 I wanted to know if its like that on the other cars?

If that's the case go and see a few others. I would imagine it has been painted at some point, Have you done a vehicle check on the car?

I haven't yet, it was my friends mate who had it and he's had it for 7 years and seems a nice fella, he tells me it hasn't had any with him so and he's the 3rd owner. I was just hoping to ask other owners what they think. Doing a check on the history won't tell you if it has paint though if it comes back clear,

If the paint code is KH3 it'll be straight (non metallic) black. Nissan paint finish isnt the best, so if you'r mate hasent had it painted and you cant tell if its had any, chances are its original.

TBH the Nissan paint on the 350Z is not the best: it can be orange peely from the factory and it stone-chips very easily.

It is common for cars a few years old to have seen some paint on the bumper unit and front of the bonnet.

There are 2 blacks for the 350Z ... Kuro 03-05, and Ebisu 06 onwards

I couldn't see anything to say it had been done, there was a little bad bit above the passanger door where it seems someone had tried to get in and poss nick it. It was the rear quarter I was looking at but the paint mostly looked like that. Have never owned or even looked at a Japanese car that closely before so was looking for some first hand info
