I know somebody selling a mk1 ford escort Mexico, full bare metal respray, cage, new bilstiens etc, he has basically run out of money to finish it, only requires wiring, glass put back in and a bit of elbow grease to get it back on the road,

How much is it worth?? No photos yet! I am going to view tomorrow morning

If you have an ebay account, you can set an advanced search and see what some similar projects have sold for recently.

A shell for example went for £2900.

Check it really is a genuine mexico first, look on http://bbs.rallyesportescorts.co.uk/ for vin plate info.

If it is a mexico it will be worth more.

£10k off the top of my head ? all depends on the quality of the work and how original it is - not necessarily the shell but trim etc.

ETA: If the expensive work has been done properly (i.e. the shell) and all parts to finish are with the car I'd say 6k is cheap.

Probably not.

Problem is the really high priced ones are either concours or original and this is neither.

But if the shell is solid, the respray good and the parts / engine are original it could be cheap.

There is no real way to tell you a price without seeing it, too much is dependent on what is there. Double and triple check it's authenticity too, you really need someone who knows the shells inside out. Need pics biggrin

£6k is cheap, going by your description.. As long as its genuinely a Mexico.

A few weeks ago I sold a rolling Mexico shell (100% genuine) with log book etc for just over £3k!
