Sorry if it's a repost but we need to defeat these people who think "it's snowed for 2 mins - DON'T GO OUT THERE"

I see something like that, and I leave my car at home. Not because I think I'll get my own car stuck (I am of course a Red Bull throwing powerfully built executive), but for fear of getting stuck behind someone like her.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-21333476

The roads will grind to a halt regardless of the tyres you use. Your speed is dependent on the progress of others.
To be fair my 1997 shed M-Benz C200 Auto did a wonderful job of coping in the December 2010 snowfall up in Scotland.
While my collegues failed to get into work in their A4 Quattros, the plucky little Benz was scrabbling it's way through unploughed roads. Perhaps it was helped by the fact that I really didnt give a toss if it got damaged and just kept going...

Think that reporter was a bit dopey standing there whilst that van reversed down the hill. Bit of ice, goes sideways and crunch. Small chance mind, but I wouldn't be standing there.
I was not sure whether it was reversing or sliding! It reminded me of the Youtube clip with the commentator being buzzed by a low flying Spitfire.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
