This morning I was in Mansfield, on a 40 mph dual carriageway.

I was in a centre filter lane waiting to turn right, a car at the junction I was turning into was waiting to pull out of the side road, and turn right onto the dual carriageway.

The waiting car started creaping out into oncoming traffic, despite this oncoming traffic, he kept moving forwards.

This caused the cars in the left lane of the dual carriageway to stop, but a car in the right hand lane kept accelerating.

The car creaping forwards, and the car in the fit hand lane then collided, the front offside corner of the creaper hitting the nearside of the other car.

I heared the bang of the collision, and saw some plastic trim fly from between the cars, there was a lot of paint transfer on the car pulling out.

The strange thing was, neither car stopped, the car on the dual carriageway kept going, and the creaper finished his move and drove off in the opposite direction.

I just sat there for a few minutes trying to figure out what had happened.

I thought maybe a crash for cash job, but they would have needed to stop for that to work, maybe nether of them care about the several thousands of pounds worth of car they were both driving, and were lucky to meet each other.

Anyone have any ideas?

B.T.W. this happened at the side of Tescos on Chesterfield Road for anyone that knows the area.

My fingers work quite well with my bows, but between the iPad spell checker, and my fat fingers, I sometimes make mistakes.

The story is still readable though.

If it was a crash for cash they already knew each other & didnt want to stop for any witnesses to interfere and maybe call the cops.
Although why do it on a busy road, and not an industrial estate at night is anyones guess.

Moe likely to be uninsured as mentioned above

So you were in the centre lane, saw the collision, then sat there for a few minutes! How annoying! hehe

Maybe they'd both seen too many Russian dash cam videos and thought it was normal to continue like nothing happened.

One driver was at fault and got away with it. The other was probably not paying attention (playing with phone) and the first they knew of the accident was the bang, so they assumed that they caused it and carried on thinking that they have gotten away with it.

There is a higher probability of two idiots doing a hit and run after causing an accident than two uninsured/drunk idiots hitting each over imo.

Probably both realised it was easier to suck it up to experience and pay the cost of the repairs rather than pursue through insurance.

^this^

I once let someone off after they bumped my car because I realised it would cause me less hassle to just forget about it.

What, in the split second they would of had to make such a decision?

Or they made a decision with them selves some time ago that if they clip a car or cause an accedent they would just drive off?

I hope people don't actually think like that frown
