Tyre advice: does this sound repairable?

Girlfriend just rang me to say she has a slow puncture, and ask if it's repairable. No pictures of it, all she's said is that there's a nail in the dead centre of the tread, and another about two inches to the side of it (but still on the l tread, not the sidewall).

I wouldn't have thought so, but I have no clue.

Not sure how much you can say without a picture, but any advice?

Apparently she's asked a garage but they said its not repairable because the punctures are too close together.

Sounds like it makes sense, but not sure if they're just trying it on to just get her to buy a tyre...
