Is it just the idiots in Aberdeen, or is it country wide.

Driving home from a night shift at work at 0700, we had some snow last night, so obviously there is snow on my car, so I did what I hope all PH's here would do.

1. Clear windscreen.
2. Clear side windows
3. Clear rear screen
4. Clear snow off lights

So why is It when I am driving home I see cars with rear windows covered in snow, rear lights covered in snow, and some with a little bit scraped off their drivers window so they can see the mirrors? And to the plank who pulled out of the shell station on the A90 in front of me, causing me to slow down rapidly in icy conditions, and gave me the finger as I gave him a blast of my horn to say "Thank you", I hope your balls turn square and fester at the corners.

And yes, his rear screen was covered in snow.

Rant over, god I feel better now.

It is country wide. And it is not just snow. Work on the basis that 98% of other road users are idiots and prepare to act accordingly.

Don't forget to clear the roof - possibly not applicable for the small amount of snow we had last night, but it never fails to amaze me when I see someone driving about with several inches of snow on their roof. Either I am driving behind them and get covered in the spray, or the brake for something and it all slides down over their windscreen rendering them blind.

I drove through from Inverness early Monday morning when there was a fair bit of snow on the A96 and it was very slippy - still lots of people driving far too fast and you could actually see their cars squirming on the road struggling fro grip!

Agree. Roads are full of them. Its no excuse but that petrol station should really have a 'run on'.

If I come out from home and the car is covered in snow, I take a broom to mine and clear it. I have a smashing pic of a 4x4 with heaps of snow on top, he braked and it all fell over the windscreen, ho ho ho.

It's life. People care less about driving than you do. It's not deliberate.

And given that you'd be able to see the chap attempting to pull away from the station, why not just pre-empt his retardedness and move into the outside lane?

Actually you forgot one....clear snow off roof of car because when it starts to melt and you brake said snow will slide over your windscreen and obscure your vision.

It doesnt make a difference if people do the above or not because they never ever ever use them anyway. I am surprised if most people manage to maintain some concentration to look in front of them.

Actually you deserved the finger. A blast of the horn does not say "thank you". Everyone can make a mistake and feel a plonker because of it, try to be courteous no harm was done (until you twonked your horn)

In fairness, if they're aware that they've made a mistake and feel a plonker then apologising would be the course of action for anybody who's not a complete twunt. Sticking your finger up at someone just because they've pointed out your mistake is very much the sort of behaviour that lands one in the "knob" thread.

God I hate so-up-themselves/ignorant-they-can't-admit/recognise-fallibility-and-respond-aggressively-out-of-embarrassment/twuntishness tts.

Cheers, Jim

A mistake pulling onto a quite fast moving dual carriageway from a standstill is not a mistake, (he maybe thought he could speed up quickly, but having driven into the garage he would have known the road conditions, wet and icy), and the speed at which he managed to get his window down and dry his nail polish says to me he was expecting something for doing it.
