OP while you're at it get one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Red-Cold-Air-Intake-Turb...
Should take you to about 250 BHP!

That tuning box is frankly laughable. You can get decent ones like the Superchips Bluefin boxes, but they're more like £300+. BHP isn't cheap.speed_monkey said:

On PH you'll get a lot of people shun tuning - period. So take any replies with a pinch of salt. And you do need to be careful as there are a lot scammers and crap out there.
That said, depending on how this works, it may indeed not being doing anything hugely different to how some engines are remapped. But it will be a generic setting, so won't likely work well with other mods and while you hope it's on the safe side, it may not.
As they claim to programme the device for your car, I'd be tempted to contact them direct and get a feel for if they know what they are claiming too do. Their ebay ad does reek of bulls

Tuning boxes in general are fine, just make sure you get a decent one.
On our last diesel astra we had a DTUK tuning box, took BHP from 150 to just under 200bhp, as the car was still under warranty it was great because we could quickly remove it.
It cost about £300 quid though, but you can get used ones on ebay for about £75, or at least that's what I sold mine for.

Well that's not strictly true. Most mappers will start with a "base" custom map that they know works above and beyond the standard map. There are many variables which can be altered and it'd be pretty barmy to manually do this on each and every car. Do it once, save the file and then download it as a basis for a custom map.
However this base map will likely be an improvement over stock (and err on the side of safety). So to get an instant gain on the same type of car you have to do bugger all but upload it.
This means someone who isn't capable of mapping from scratch could also copy the map and simply provide it as an upgrade.
Sure some might be s
te, but many may not be.The one the op has cited I know nothing about, so it may well be utter garbage. But dismissing it based on false assumptions isn't really the entire story.

"After the purchase, please tell us the make, model of car, engine horse-power, our engineers will develop a program, EVOBOX specifically for the car model you choose."
t though.For 54 quid?

Not forgetting:
"Also compatible the vehicle electronics more advanced" and, "Predisposed to install an on / off switch or remote control"

In my eyes cheap chips like this for standard cars are s
t, better off getting a map done to suit your needs than a chip that will overfuel and likely cause your engine to explode into a million pieces (slight exageration but you get my point).Caulkhead said:
