hi all,
I have bought a bit of a banger runabout and the car needs a VIC check for me to put it on the road, whats does this entail exactly?

A very basic check to make sure it is the car it is supposed to be.

Normally you turn up to a test centre (mot) style dvla house and they just check to make sure everything is in order, chassis number etc will be checked and a glance over the car will be done.

This is when they will send you out a replacement log book, if you have one now it won't be valid and it will show up if you try to tax it. The log book you have will be no good to get a tax disc.
