Can i do better than a 2012 XF 3.0d Premium Luxury S
Discussion
Cracking car i have to say and very close to haveing a deal tomorrow teatime on this
White - Wouldnt be my first choice of colour after seeing one in Gray, but does suit this car
The amount of kit is unreal, basically everything inc
Nav
Xenons
Heated and Cooled Seats
Reversing camera
Heated Front Screen
Keyless Entry and Start
Flappy Paddles
275bhp and does cover a road very quickly
blah blah blah.
£30k
I have it until tomorrow to decide, but thus far does seem a well put together car
I did drive past a GT-R black edition in the same parking lot for £4k More
Think id have fun putting 2 kids and their stuff into the back of it though

A petrol version, they seem to be a little nicer to scoot around in. I have only driven a few at work, however I can never get use to that dull throb of the oil burner in the background, i'll grant you that it isn't loud though, and I assume is still lovely to waft long distances. As a side note, how many miles do you do? Will the diesel really be worth it?
Try an XFR, a customer took me out on a blast in his, as he noticed me admiring it after getting it ready for him to return, if i wasn't a student, and had the money, I'd want that.
ETA: the last bitty

2012 12k on the clock
Its going back tomorrow after an extended test drive
Its certainly a nice car and very well kitted out for that price, although may be worth looking at competitors if you haven't already? If you're on a forum the night before making such a big decision i suggest you take your time and if you have to let this one go, more will come, dont rush..Its going back tomorrow after an extended test drive
That's a good price.
I bought a new 3.0 S Portfoliio in October with 15% discount. I've had BMWs and Audis in recent years, but the Jag really is in a different league.
I agree, the toys you get are great. The 1200w B&W in mine is sublime. And put the dynamic mode on and it becomes an amazing car. Interestingly, it's faster without your foot hard down. Try it, the torque is just great.

Sounds like a very good price on a very good car. Absolutely love them, great spec, comfortable and in 3.0S spec they have all of the performance you'd ever need on the road. Maybe I'm getting old, but if I had £30k for a XF I'd find it very difficult to choose between a 3.0S with the spec you've mentioned and a early XFR, and I'm someone who never thought they could be won over by a diesel!
I'm currently driving a 58-plate 2.7d XF Luxury. Doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but it's a fantastic car - so far.
Before I bought it - used - I drove a same-year BMW 530d and the XF beats it in almost every way. I've been driving BMWs for a few years now, and wanted to see how the XF would handle, and was seriously impressed.
My next car, in a year or two, will be either a 2.2d or a 3.0d XF.

WHat sort of mpg are you getting out of interest
35 mile morotway journey earlier today with cruise set to 70, was showing 50.4mpg
Same journey home in my 530d was 39.7mpg
The s version can cover alot of ground in a short space of time
I almost got caught out on a set of bends which i know quite well
The only drawback i can see is the touchscreen seems slow to respond
And from what i read on other forums, possible future rattly interior after the miles start to clock up
and some monday morning or friday afternoon cars. Rattles and me dont see eye to eye so that is a worry..
Steering maybe not just as direct as the bmw, but a very compentent car overall, with very high spec
and a cracking engine / gearbox setup
I did see your car earlier in my search, stunning
White wasnt my first choice colour, but this seems to be a cracking deal for a 1 year old PL S
with added front sensors and reversing camera and something else which i cant remember now!

I sold my A5 because of the cheap-s
t rattly interior. Also my E46s had their fair share of rattles. So We'll see with the Jag.
My mpg reads about 6-8% high. But showing 50 at 70 is pretty good. Guess mine's still loosening up.
If the screen animations are on, then turn them off. That'll speed things up a little. It is slow, but you get used to it. There's also a fix for 2012MY cars to install the 2013MY software. You also may experience some fuel-tank slap. Again, there's a quick fix under warranty.
At that price is has to be worth it for a year to see how it goes. So far, mine has exceeded the Audis and Beemers I've had, other than the M3, which I personally think it's on a par with. The extra torque of the Jag offsets the extra power of the M3.
