As the title really.

Im looking to sell the Lexus as going from an Auto to a Manual has frustrated me.

Looking for a sensible 60-80k example, with the Nav and Boston sound system.

Its a diesel so MPG will be fair.

I can't find any of the 5.7 Hemi's for under £8k so i think i'll have to take diesel.

Good choice?

Coming from a 2006 IS250 with all the nav, camera options..

I had a 3.0 A8 which although i never got bored of, was always worried about the suspension and multitronic gearbox.

Should i just wait for the 5.7? Fuel cost shouldn't really be an issue my commute is usually short.

the post 07 cars are nicer interior spec and I think the v8 model is a better performer than the earlier model, or so I have been led to believe.

Taking the 6.1, there are only three options aren't there though?

CRD, 3.5 and 5.7

The 3.5 being a slug and terrible MPG

There is a good 78k black CRD on autotrader with the NAV and Boston sound options.

But i have chosen to spend around £6500 and get the 5.7 Hemi

You only live once and i have never owned a V8, so just in case the government decide to drop the bomb about banning V8's, what better excuse to own one smile

£20 a month more insurance than the Lexus IS250 and less tax! smile

I love the look of them. And considering their size and ability they make a good value vehicle compared to alternatives.

If they were to ban V8 engines, it would only be new sales, not already existing cars.

never happen though.

Had this 300 CRD for just over a year and half now. It's the Startech edition. A couple of problems arose. One being a typical Merc problem egr valve and associated bits that went with it failed. Cost to replace was £950. But bearing in mind. The parts actually came to £258. The rest was made up of the dealerships labour. Also replaced the front anti roll bar bushes. In general it's a very good car. Ride is a little harsh at times. But this is down to the factory tyre and wheel combo. I put a set of factory 18,s on it while I had these wheels refurbed and the ride was a lot better.

The car is used everyday 7 days a week by both me and my wife and apart from the problems mentioned has been a great car. Best mpg I have made is 40mpg. Quite good when you consider the size and weight. When I have finished with this one I intend on buying the recently launched new edition.

That looks stunning with the Startech kit and 20's

I have opted to got (almost) all out on the 5.7.

It is being sold by a member on here, so i have a 360 mile return trip tomorrow to collect.

Most shocking thing is how cheap the tax is considering the engine, but that's positive.

I'll take out some shares in Shell or BP wink
