Been in US this week and was delayed at New York due to the snow. i happened to be surfing on eBay Motors as you do and the result is that I have bought ANOTHER car I don't need.....

Not really what you would expect alongside the V8 and the V12 Mercs....

Wifey is fortunately quite understanding........

Now I don't want any laughing........it is a future classic!!!!

The background to this'd chase is that my long gone grandfather had a mint Wolseley 1300 when I was growing up as a kid. Since then I have always fancied the idea of getting one and dropping in a breathed on A series (cooper spec), lowering it slightly, period 60s alloys etc.....

Now this is a one owner 40,000 mile car so I may just spend some time doing it up and seeing if I can make a few quid on it....got it for less than a grand!

We will see ...it depends on the condition it is in.

Pick it up tomorrow........

My wife had a Woseley, think it was a Vanden Plas(?) back in the early 80's. (had a bonnet badge that lit up with the headlights on)

Was in very good condition and looked resplendent in Limeflower!

That ^^^^ is not a Wolseley,it's the common Austin variant.

Just saying.

And a Vanden Plas is also a separate model from the Wolseley

Yes, sorry guys I have should have been clear. This is a Mk 1 Austin 1100

As the car developed it was the ultimate in badge engineering. There were austin, Morris, Riley, mg, vanden plas and Wolseley versions!

More tomorrow....

It wasn't a VP then - it was definitely a Wolseley as it had the illuminated grille badge same as this -

Oh dont .... I'm not allowed any more cars... My first car was an Austin 1100 . Positive earth, futuristic dash and rusty sills. Fond memories.

ETA that ones been 'modified' , they originally had wing mirrors that were actually on the wings as opposed to the doors.
