I ran an HPI check on a car I am buying, it came back with the following report on outstanding finance.
The current plate is SE***DZ. I'm just looking for clarification on what it is telling me, am I correct in thinking the car itself has no outstanding finance, but the private regs assigned to it are now reassigned to vehicles with outstanding finance? Although a quick online check of J***U does not show it as being assigned to a vehicle. I am buying from an Independent Dealer.

Plate Transfer

J***U was applied to this vehicle on 22/09/2011

Thanks Sump. Do you know what the BLL comment against J***U means?

I think you are right. I sold a private plate off one of my S2000's and put my own plate on the car. When I traded it in to the dealer a year or so later, it did show that the previous private plate now has outstanding finance against it.

I called HPI to explain and they just said that the previous plate was part of the history of the car and they was just highlighting somebody has a finanical interest in a vehicle with that plate. They confirmed it has nothing to do with my car as it stands so nothing to worry about.
