Sorry to be dumb, but why would an Audi A3 be cheaper than an Audi A1 on contract lease when its a more expensive car from the show room?????

Don get it!!

Is it to do with the amount of A3's in the market or is the lower price due to good residues???

It all boils down to the residue.

Combination of things I expect.

Residual value.
Cost from supplier when bought in bulk.

Perhaps the trim levels are very different.
Top end A1 vs bottom end A3.

Its also down to discounts availble from the manufacturer. The A3 maybe given more discount at the moment.

Audi (or a dealer group) are probably just dumping unsold A3s into the lease market at a huge discount, not that uncommon, Merc for example fairly often do some blinding deals on the C and E class.

I'd assume this was the last of the previous shape A3.
