VW Passat CC GT or Audi A4 SE Technik ?
Discussion
Brother in law is getting a new role at work, which means a new company car and he has to choose (by monday) between a VW Passat CC GT or the Audi A4 SE Technik and he's asked for my opinion.
He'll be commuting from Essex to London and doing around 200 - 250 miles a day.
But apart from liking the looks of the Audi better i have no experience with either car (or even with commuting as i live less then a mile away from my work), so i was wondering if people here have either car, and what they like or don't like about them.
Or just which car you'd choose, and why.
He's had Skoda Octiva VRS for the past couple years, like this one :

So which ever one he chooses will be replacing the skoda.

Like you say, not much between them spec wise. CC gets power and heated seats
Audi gets stigma/prestige badge, depending on opinion.
Company car tax difference is negligible.
I'd try the CC, quirky, not default choice. The Audi will still be on the list in three years time, the CC might not.

Can't comment on the A4 but I had a CC GT for a couple of weeks last year and was massively impressed. Very comfortable, reasonably punchy (this was the 170 TDI) and personally I think they look fantastic.
Also worth bearing in mind it comes with xenons as standard, for me this would probably swing it in the CC's favour alone.

I found it uncomfortable to get in and out of the back of the CC (weird doors and not much legroom), and my colleague disliked the access for kids. It was like an impractical passat which seems like a strange concept to me.
+1 - a few colleagues have the CC, to which I've had to sit in the back of them. Not a nice place, even with the swathes of leather and Highline trim...Medic-one said:

Will he be lapping the M25 twice daily? He'll be commuting from Essex to London and doing around 200 - 250 miles a day.

CC for me. They stand out in the world of rep saloons.
Passat CC. Drove a 2.0 (140)DSG a year or so ago for about 300 miles and thought it was great, a very nice car indeed. Yes it is still a Passta but in my view sufficiently different enough. Although 140bhp is not enough in such a big car. At least it doesn't look like every other car in the VW range...

Hmm, i thought i created a poll. Would i not be able to see it as the TS or have i done it wrong ? I can't seem to be able to add the poll afterwards can i ?
If you create a poll, and then click the "preview" button before submitting your post, it clears the poll away. Very annoying, as it means you can't preview your post before posting
Out of those two, I'd go for the VW CC because I prefer the interior

When I was due a new company car I had both on my short list.
Both are a similar spec both engine and interior wise.
If you go for a Tdie Audi it's emissions are considerably better in terms of CO2 than the VW.
I ended up with an A4 SE as my predecessor chose it then upped sticks and left me to use the car for three years!
Overall comments are both are great mile munchers, and as others have mentioned the CC is less common on the roads.
Both lack the driver feedback of my BMW 1er and when mine is up for renewal next year I will be heading back to BMW in the shape of a 3er Touring.
